Do you carry general liability insurance?

Yes. One sure sign of stability for a contractor is their decision to carry general liability insurance. Such insurance is necessary and shows a commitment to protecting your property in case of damage caused by a contractor. Nassau and Suffolk counties strongly require that all contractors carry insurance.

Can I meet the owner?

Absolutely, as a small business owner I personally manage each and every project from start to completion. I’m a firm believer that being personally involved and building face to face relationships is extremely important.

How will my home be kept clean and safe during the project?

Remodeling can be extremely dirty work. Extreme measures will be taken to secure the areas of your home under construction. We use drop cloths and install plastic dust barriers during the construction process.

What happens if I want to make a change once the project has begun?

I do have a change order process to accommodate changes needed after the project is under-way. Its not uncommon at all to have changes throughout a project.

Do you accept credit card payments for remodel projects?

Typically I do not accept credit card payments for remodeling projects.

How will I be billed for my project?

A down payment is required when our construction agreement is signed. Our agreement also outlines the payment schedule for the duration of the project and will be discussed upon agreement.

Will I receive a detailed estimate?

Yes, I will provide a full detailed proposal covering all of the tasks to be completed. I advise all of my prospective clients to carefully read my proposal and ensure that everything they want or believe is being provided, is recorded in the agreement.

Are your services affordable?

Unlike big companies, my operating costs are significantly low. I don’t ever hire any sales teams and never out-source any of my work. I’ll normally ask a series of questions regarding your proposed project, budgets and financing, as I have found that open discussion early in the relationship avoids potential frustrations later.

How long will it take to receive my estimate?

1: For handyman services, I normally quote most tasks over the phone.
2: On small or average sized projects, I will either provide a ‘sight on scene’ quote or an email containing a custom PDF proposal (within 2 days).
3: For larger projects, It is my goal to complete a custom PDF proposal that will be emailed to you within 1 week of the original site visit. However, this time frame may vary depending upon the complexity of your specific project. Most cases I will provide a response time at the initial site visit.

Do you provide free estimates?

My estimation process is free of charge.

Can you provide us with references from your past clients?

Absolutely. Almost all my work comes from customer referrals. I’ll be able to provide a list of references of past clients who have had similar work done at their homes.

Do you use Sub-contractors?

No, I don’t hire any sales teams and never out-source any of my work. I personally manage each and every project from start to completion.

Does your work have a warranty?

I provide a one-year warranty on labor. The manufactures warranty for all appliances or fixtures still apply and may extend beyond the one year warranty period provided by us. Their warranty may or may not include replacement labor charges.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, I am fully licensed and insured to work in Nassau and Suffolk counties.

In what geographical area do you operate?

I generally operate within Nassau and Suffolk county.

Will I be required to put a deposit down and make scheduled payments?

Yes, it is a common practice to require a down payment in advance to secure your spot into my schedule. Compared to most contractors, my required deposits are actually very low. In some cases, additionally it may be necessary to purchase custom ordered materials in advance. It is also common to make scheduled payments through out the project.
